On Friday, Oct. 2, Kaysville Elementary, is joining schools and communities across Utah for the Statewide Read-A-Thon. Our students will set aside time to read, explore new ideas and celebrate the joy of reading.
What will you be reading?
During the Read-A-Thon, students will set aside dedicated time during the school day to enjoy
books, explore topics that interest them and strengthen their reading skills. Whether students choose
a favorite story, discover a new author, or learn about a subject they're passionate about, the event
provides an opportunity to make reading a shared experience across classrooms and communities.
Reading plays a critical role in student success by helping children build knowledge, expand
vocabulary, strengthen comprehension skills, and develop creativity. The Statewide Read-A-Thon
highlights the importance of literacy while encouraging students to see reading as both an
educational tool and an enjoyable activity.
Kaysville Elementary is excited to participate in this statewide event and help foster a love of reading among students. The school joins educators, families and communities across Utah in celebrating the power of books to inspire learning and open new worlds of discovery.
Families are encouraged to continue the celebration at home by setting aside time to read together
and talking with students about what they are reading.
